“BECHA is VESNA in the Cyrillic alphabet. It also means “messenger” in Slavic and it`s a name of a Slavic spirit associated with the springtime.” Which is how BECHA’s work can be described, “springtime.” Becha, also known as Vesna Pesic, is a graphic designer and illustrator. She was born on February 23, 1984 in Pancevo, Serbia. Becha currently works as an art director for Fried Pictures, which was created in 2005 and accommodates “international clients; including agencies, corporations, feature film producers, and more worldwide.” Becha does free-lance out of “Novi Sad, Serbia” as well. Becha graduated from the “Faculty of Arts in Niš at the Department of Applied Arts, graphic-design.” Becha has worked with magazines like, (which is from Serbia) where she worked with Art direction and digital art to create an editorial called, Silent Spring, made for the fashion magazine. Becha has also done work for an agency called “Gong Muse.” Gong Muse is a “specialist communications agency where art and culture meets luxury, to drive business through media, potential new buyers and collectors.” Becha’s work for this company has consumed of her illustrations, Web design, and Graphic design. Other magazines like Elle and Soma(Swedish magazine) have hired Becha to do illustration, typography and graphic design work for their featured spreads and covers. Other accomplishments Becha has achieved as an artist, is the album cover she created with her illustrations and graphic design for “Schradinova.”(Singer/songwriter) that Designed.rs featured. Becha was also featured on Machas, a news site. This news was particularly about Sushi magazine which “is to support young, talented people and every new issue is a celebration of a new generation of artists,” shedding light on artist beliefs. Becha being one of them, expressed her love for nature and how she wanted to draw attention to the “ecology problem.” Vesna Pesic is a talented, fresh artist who I’ve had the pleasure of learning about and can’t wait to see more of her upcoming work!
